I (Dan) had this last week as annual leave and used two of those days to make us our fireplace.

Have at look at our “House decorations” photos section and see some of the work in progress.

You can see the before and after photos on the left. What a difference hey? The fire place is made out of sweet chesnut and is finished with oil. I got the general design from looking at some other fireplaces online and in shops and then tailored it to suit our room size.

What dya reckon? Do you like it?

People reckon its clever stuff to make something like that but when you’ve got the tools, good materials and a wood guru (me Dad) then it really isn’t so hard.
