Becs and I went to Wales this weekend to see Becs’ mum and some friends (Mark, Jane and Luke Downey). On Sunday we went on a lakeside walk sheltered by woodland and we were amazed to find so many fungi. It was really amazing. It must be just the right time of year as there were hundreds of fungi species everywhere.

Unfortunately, I was unable to use my camera as it had run out of battery but I did manage to get some photos from the internet. Amongst others we saw yellow Stagshorn and the typical red toadstool seen pictured here. We noticed that the fungus only resides under large trees so next time you go into your local woods, keep a look out and keep your camera handy, with batteries fully charged!

Isn’t nature amazing?
