2 weeks to go - the waiting game!

July 21st, 2008 · 2 Comments

We’re really enjoying this time of eager anticipation. Marmalade is now going to be with us so soon. The really wierd thing is that it could happen any day now. Whereas before we could say “oh it’ll be another 4 weeks yet” the fact is Becs could go into labour at any moment…. eeek!

Becs was just saying to me last week “we could have jam with us this time tomorrow evening!”. That sent me into a quick panic as I thought oh my life, that just seems so real and is so unpredictable. As Becs has already said, we do like to plan things far in advance and I am the same so this time of uncertainty is a little bit of a test for us.

Well, as everyone keeps telling us, we have to enjoy the time while it lasts, getting as much sleep as possible and making the most of the relaxation as possible!

    Dear Dan, Becs , Jam..
Good to hear you’re well prepared for the big(gest) change in your lifes! We wish you courage during labour and lots of fun at night-feeding the baby :) You have the best reason in the world not to be at our wedding.. which doesn’t mean we won’t miss you.. Lots of love from Holland!

I know what you mean about Jam being with you any minute - the day before Reuben arrived I had a terribly normal day: had my hair cut, went out for lunch with a friend, then met with our antenatal group for a Friday social. But that night everything kicked off..!! So, enjoy every day, and without overdoing it, do lots of little things you enjoy! Also, one good bit of advice I got was to plan some activity for the day of your due date, else you could be distracted by exciting thoughts when actually Jam doesn’t feel like making an appearance yet; that is, unless she arrives *before* your due date..!!
