More role changing!

July 22nd, 2008 · 1 Comment

Becs was saying in her blog a couple of days ago how she feels her role has changed in the past weeks from being a worker to being a bit of an inbetweeny before being a fully fledged all singing all dancing mother!! It’s quite funny because although I’ve not stopped work like Becs has [although it would be fab but it would be a big cop out] my role has definitely changed. For one thing, I am now painting toe nails, a personal ‘can you reach that for me darling’ kinda person, a serious back rubber and a bit of a general all round nester! I’m learning to be thinking a bit further ahead than just my next meal as I try to keep us prepared for the inevitable baby arrival and all that means.

On a bit more of a serious note, the idea of being a father has led me to reflect a little more about what it means to be a leader of the family. As a father and a husband, we men do assume a head of the family kind of role and i’ve started thinking about what that means. Not figured it out yet, probably never will but its certainly something that’s worth a thought.

So all you father men out there, got any good ideas?

Dan
