I don’t think that I have ever been smiled at so much as I have in the last couple of weeks. Wherever I go, smiles are exchanged and conversations inevitably follow - usually beginning with the sentence ‘you can’t have long left…’ Where conversations don’t follow, I do wonder what that person is thinking… the smile seems to convey a mixture of excitement, understanding and pity at my currently rather awkward shape! It’s especially evident from those around who have small children in tow - I wonder if they’re thinking ‘does she know what she’s letting herself in for?’ or maybe ‘I’d like to have another one’ - I guess I’ll work it out as I give that smile to other heavily pregnant ladies once I’ve had our baby. One not so discreet toddler tugged his mum’s trousers and said rather loudly in the cheese aisle of Sainsburys, ‘Mummy, look at the size of that lady!’ I had to smile as his mother definitely gave me an apologetic smile! No mistaking what she was trying to convey there!

Our NCT group continues to meet weekly - only two of us left to have our babies now as Ruth had Ben 10 days ago at a healthy 9lbs! We all managed to get together this week - 5 new babies from 4 new mums! Plus the two of us still waiting to pod! What a privilege to see these little ones when they’re so tiny and to share their mums stories.

Well, Baby Jam is now due in just 2 days - who knows when she’ll actually make her appearence, but I’m still feeling very calm about it all - and desperately excited! Watch this space…
