Well, Baby Jam is currently showing her reluctance to join the outside world! I am now 3 days overdue and she is showing no signs of joining us imminently! This leads me to several conclusions - firstly, that this has all been a horrible mistake and in fact, I am not pregnant at all. Secondly, that I am actually an elephant with a much longer gestation period or thirdly, that I just have to trust that she will come when she’s ready and that this is not about my timing. I have to say that I oscillate between the three!
There are many old wives tales about ways to start labour and last night Dan came home from work with a pineapple. For those of you who don’t know (and quite frankly, why should you..), pineapples apparently contain an enzyme which, when you eat enough of it, can bring on labour. Well, I dutifully ate the majority of the pineapple and I have to say that I don’t recommend eating that much in one sitting. It gives you a very funny numb and fuzzy tongue, and quite a painful tummy - and no baby!
I think we’ll wait and see what the midwife says this afternoon before we try anything else…. Or maybe I really do just need to learn this lesson in patience.

There are other ways to bring on labour, too, including the three hots: hot baths, hot curry and hot sex…!! You could try all three in one night?! ;o) Gx

Still waiting for the phone call!! Just as well I didn’t go for the date and weight as I was going to say August 4th -obviously wrong!
Seems from the website that you don’t know whether to call the baby Jam or Marmalade. Advice from an impending great-aunt (how old is that!) - go for marmalade - single syllable first and last names just don’t go. From one who knows!

Or I’ll take you for a drive this evening… you’ll go into labour in terror in no time!
