Buggy Walks

October 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

We’ve just spent a lovely week up in the Lake District on holiday. We stayed in a beautiful cottage in Ambleside and spent the first few days with Becs’ mum, sister and brother-in-law and then had the remaining time as just the 3 of us. While we were away we continued to do one of our favourite things - going for lovely walks and finishing off with coffee and cake (have you ever noticed how you can justify the biggest piece of cake when you’ve been for a ‘walk’??!! Just an observation!)

We found a book of ‘buggy walks’ for the area we were staying in. These varied between short stolls on tarmaced roads, to off road stomps requiring a sturdy buggy - we did a mixture of both. Our buggy is a 3 wheeler from Mothercare - it has proper tyres but is not as sturdy as some of the super duper ones which have suspension and gears! They also have a super duper price tag! However our buggy faired very well - I’m not sure it would cope with the muddy fields on a daily basis, but will definitely cope with our family holidays. We can definitely recommend the buggy walk books too for those of you who have a buggy and are into that kind of thing! We can’t find a link to the buggy walks we have bought but the Lake District Tourist website have some “Miles without stiles” walks which are perfect for buggies.

We’d aslo love to hear from any of you who can recommend any buggy walks that you know of - we’e always on the look out!
