Flirting!

October 21st, 2008 · 1 Comment

I have never witnessed a baby flirt before.  In fact I didn’t even know that they could flirt. However Hannah appeared to have developed that vital female skill at the grand old age of 8 weeks!

2 weeks ago I took Hannah to the GP for her 8 week check up and her first set of jabs. We went in to Dr Binians room and Hannah graced him with a big smile. He explained what he was going to do which included testing her reflexes and checking her hips - he also explained that she might not like all he was going to do. I was sure she wouldn’t as apart from anything else it involved Hannah’s clothes having to come off - something she hates.

Dr Binian undressed Hannah - she smiled throughout (even when the dreaded vest had to go over her head), he then did all he needed too - more smiles. In fact she was positively beaming! Not one little squeal - that was until I went over to dress her. She looked at me and screamed. It wasn’t just a grizzle or a cry, it was a full on ‘I’m being murdered’ scream - you know the one?? Dr Binian commented that he usually found that babies calmed down when they see their mothers - not my little girl! I sat her on my knee to try and soothe her but until I turned her around to face the Dr again, she was inconsolable. She then saw the object of her affection and was all smiles! I think my girl is going to go far!

I love that story - she’s obviously developing the Addinall charm just nicely - and knowing who to suck up too!!!
