Hannah has begun blowing raspberries. We think she really likes the sensation and also the noise it makes. It also gets a big coo out of Mummy and Daddy (I wonder how long that will last for). I was singing “Away in a Manger” to her on Tuesday evening to settle her down a little. About half way through verse 2 she looked at me with a glint in her eye and then blew the biggest raspberry at me as if to say my singing was rubbish! It made me chuckle. Just then, as I was holding my delicate precious little angel in my arms I began to wonder, did Jesus, the Saviour of the human race, lie in his manger blowing raspberries at Mary and Joseph? For a moment, I thought, that’s quite funny and a bit surreal as we only ever really consider Jesus as fully matured and very wise man. But it must be true.

As I watch Hannah growing up I am going to be constantly reminded of how amazing God’s grace is, that he would sacrifice his one and only precious Son so that I can have the gift of Life.

No raspberries for that hey Hannah.
