While we were away on holiday, Dave and I decided to capitalise on our location in Derbyshire and get up early one morning to photograph Stannage Edge. We got up at 4:30am and got to a beautiful spot on the edge to photograph it at sunrise. It was a bit of a poor show as the sun never really did anything with the sky to make it a truly memorable photograph but it was worth it all the same. The gritstone edge is very impressive and I can see how this grippy rock became the birthplace of modern day climbing. With a poor light display, Dave and I decided to walk along the rock face to see various vantage points for better photographs. I have learnt that it is always a good idea to turn around once in a while to see how the view looks in the opposite direction. I did this periodically during our walk and was eventually greeted with this beautiful panoramic. As I don’t own a super wide angle lens, I decided to take several photos, all at the same exposure and white balance and stitch them later using photoshop and this is the result!
