Our Christian community

June 28th, 2009 · No Comments

We’ve not ever really blogged on this subject and seeing as it’s important to us and part of our every day life I thought I’d say a little about what our community means to us.

In essence, we try to let our lives reflect the relationship we have with God and this is never more true than in our Christian community. In addition to a sunday morning service Becs and I are lucky to part of a “house group” that meets weekly to share in a small bible study, to pray together and to share with eachother what is happening in our lives, the good things and the bad things. And this where the rubber hits the road in terms of making our relationship with God make a difference with our relationship with others. Our focus is to put others first, to support them and be supported by them, to challenge and be challenged, to walk life closely together. It’s counter cultural, it can be hard but the benefits are enormous and we see God at work in us and through us during these times of deep friendship and fellowship. I can honestly say that these people are almost as close as family and we are much the better off for it.

Today we shared some quality time together over a good old BBQ and here is our motley crew!

If you ever want to find out more about our faith or would like to come to church with us one day, please don’t hesitate to ask. There is a good reason why people call it “Good News” and that is because Jesus is absolutely that!
