My lawn has become quite overgrown of late as the rain has stopped play on the mowing front! I don’t need much of an excuse to stop play but alas, today was good enough to mow the meadow and as I was chugging along a whipper-snapper of a frog lept out of my fatal path. The young chap (or chapess, never quite sure with frogs, they don’t wear enough make up to tell) looked very pleased to have had my almost fallow field to bath in as the long grass kept him moist and shaded. I stopped my mowing and with my penchant for photography nipped inside, slipped on the macro photography kit and began taking some close up shots of the phibian. He was very patient with me and it wasn’t long before my recently trashed lens finally gave up the ghost and I had to retire with this nice photo of said frog.

I think he missed the rest of the mowing! I didn’t see where he went after I came back from nursing my poor camera. Click on the picture for a larger version and see just how unbelievably sharp his eye is!
